World Renowned 9th Dan Belt Black Jiu Jitsu Instructor.

First let me welcome you to our website and I hope you enjoy it whether you are a martial artist or novice interested in learning self-defence.

I have held a Senior black belt grade in the Mother Art since 1983 and in that time I have been fortunate enough to have trained with and been taught by some of the most respected Ju-Jitsu master’s in this country & abroad, I could not name all of them as it would fill up the page, however they know who they are and thank you.

My first experience of Ju-Jitsu was back in 1973 when my father took me to the former London ju-jitsu centre in church street North London; I joined the junior class on Saturday mornings.

Achievements

  • Over forty-five years training in the art of Jiu-Jitsu
  • Taught self-defence all over the world
  • Graded 1st Dan in Jiu-Jitsu 1983
  • One of the youngest ever 8th Dan International Instructors
  • Promoted to 9th Dan Professor of Jiu-Jitsu 2022
  • Grades recognised by several Jiu-Jitsu governing bodies both in the UK and internationally
  • Represented England twice with two separate International Associations
  • Specialist in close-quarter combat and advanced self-defence combinations from street weapon attacks

I would strongly recommend Ju-Jitsu to anyone who truly would like to learn how to defend themselves, today people talk about cross-training learning Karate & Judo and so on, well that’s fine; however Ju-Jitsu has all these aspects and always has, so I personally found that Ju-Jitsu is the most complete fighting art known to man.

I have served with the British Army back in 1986 and was selected to fight for my company boxing team; I also held a regular class for Ju-Jitsu at weekends. After my first few fight’s I aggravated an old injury that I had before joining the Army and so left on voluntary retirement after 2 years.

After leaving the Army I got straight back into training 4 to 5 times a week at my fathers schools around London and progressed through the Dan grades.

Included in our client base are former British army special forces and tactical specialist police units along with various different companies in the security sector.

I was selected to represent England in the first United Nations Jiu-Jitsu Championship in the Weapons and Kata category in Roses Spain back in 1992 and I was also selected to represent England for the AMA (amateur martial arts association) British team in (IJJF) International Jiu-Jitsu Federation Championships in Bologna, Italy in 1994.(World Games)

Although we do not do competitions in total self defence as we concentrate mainly with self-defence principles. Students that want to do sport and are competition minded, we have many friends that do and could put you in touch with them to enter international competitions if you are interested.

The classes we run are open and friendly, and everybody is welcome, our oldest student was 73 years old and could mix it with the best of them, so age is not a problem.

Our classes are mainly syllabus orientated, so you will be learning what you need to know for your next grading. Gradings are held every 3-4 months.

We have regular international courses available to all students several times a year; you can train with some of the world’s top instructors with Yoshimi jujitsu International. Also you will get the opportunity to have a go at “KOBUDO” weapons training that are usually reserved for black belts.

Again let me welcome you to our web page and if you have any questions please get in touch.
